Late December 2009 I made goals for 2010, laid out plans for each month, got organized and hoped to hit January running on my way to accomplishing great things this year.
Not so much.
Instead in January (and part of February) we had:
-Noahs mouth surgery
-a “threatened miss carriage”
-5 weeks bed rest (2 strict weeks and 3 moderately strict weeks)
-Kirras busted toe
-Kirras stomach flu–too bad you can’t train a one year old to let you know when they’re going to throw up
-my stomach flu
-several trips to the laundry mat (still don’t have that washer and dryer!–and Noah did it all alone.)
-7 doctors appointments
Just a bit of a rocky start.
Although, I didn’t accomplish anything I planned,
I do feel very lucky and blessed:
-that Noah is healing well from surgery & can chew food again
-that our baby is doing just fine now
-that so many people checked up on us, wished us well and/or offered to help
-that many great women from our ward brought over meals
-that friends not only offered but asked what day they could take kirra for us
-that Kat came and played butler/babysitter for us for a week and a half
-that Leah came down for a day and brought zoey to play with kirra (they are so cute together!)
-that once I was doing well enough, Britt and Rachel came and took me out on the motorized scooter for some fresh air and shopping (that thing is dang fast!)
-that Kirra is no longer puking up everything she eats
-that I can go places again–anyone up for the park?
-that I don’t have to see another doctors office until March!
Thank you to everyone for all your support, notes, calls, emails, dinners, babysitting and love. It was a CRAZY time and all of you made it so much easier on us. I can’t thank you enough! We love you!
Hope everyone is doing well!
much love, tiffany

Hi Twink! I got the Ergo carrier before I had Jasper. I read rave reviews about it in baby bargains. He hated it and I never used it. I ended up selling it on Craigslist. :> For infants, you also have to buy the infant insert — which is an extra $20 or so. If I ever have a baby who likes carriers, I will probably just get the Baby Bjorn. I am sure the Ergo is neat, but not sure it is worth the $$$$. Maybe a score on Craig’slist. Love and Miss you! Twink,
I love the ergo! We gave the Bjorn a try when Mary was born, but picked up the Ergo within a few months, and now we’ve got two of them. The Ergo can come in two different weights- regular and light; both can be used from infancy with the insert. Go get it, we just picked up the second one after we got here and paid $230. Totally worth it.

Tiff, I will tell you that straight up this carrier has SAVED my life. It’s NOTHING like a Bjorn. It’s extremely comfortable and wearing a baby in it makes you so happy… don’t ask me why, there’s some kind of drug in there that makes you happy and I’m not lying. For me, having a newborn and a crazy wiggly near-toddler-but-still-baby, I needed something versatile that I could wear BOTH in (not at the same time) but when Shelby was soundly sleeping in her carseat, I would gingerly transfer her to the shopping cart, and wear Sarah on my back. She LOVED being up high (until she starting pulling my hair, then I went a little crazy) but she was so content in there and would otherwise be trying to crawl out of the cart or scream the entire time making my shopping experience an utter tragedy. I didn’t use it when Shelby was tiny. I used it for Sarah during those early months, so I didn’t even buy the newborn insert. You could TOTALLY put Kirra on your back when you are out with your newborn. It’s good for toddlers on your back for up to 40 lbs… I could even put Rowan in it if I wanted to! And the best thing is it’s super comfortable. The Bjorn hurt my shoulders and my back terribly, this is super comfy and when Shelby is in it (cuz she’s pretty much been in it since she was 4 months old) she’s super super content, happy, and at 10 months old will fall asleep without me even noticing. Plus it has a HUGE zipped pocket in front that I put my keys, phone, and credit cards in so I don’t even shop with a purse anymore! It makes me SO happy! I tell you, when I’m out and about with 3 kids 3 and under, and Shelby is happily sleeping on my chest, I am a one happy mother that can then deal with the crazies that ARE the other two… haha! Call me, come try mine out with Kirra. :) Lots of love, good luck!
